Description

And finally it's finished. Here's the long-promised show fight between Franz and Mir. With the tournament over, I have to just submit this as a regular submission, but that's not really much of an issue.

Anyway, this is only a one-way show fight since didn't draw a comic, though we did discuss the events of the fight so what happens here is entirely canon. This is the first time in more than 3 years that I've drawn a comic entirely traditional, since I got the use of my scanner back. The exception is page 3, which was drawn before I got the scanner. It's a bit rough around the edges but at least I managed to get it done. I also experimented heavily with comic book-like sound effects on this one, which is pretty good at parts but I don't think the gibberish I put on the pages will be read the same way I imagined them sounding, lol.

As for background, after Franz lost round 1 to disqualification, he opted to be a judge. Despite this, his show of brutality caused all kinds of random joes and bobs to challenge him, so Franz has gone and defeated a total of 66 previous (unnamed) challengers. Each time, he's been holding back, and with each victory, the crowd slowly started to cheer him on again.

Because these show fights do not conform to the same tournament rules, Franz is free to use his vast array of abilities at will. In this particular comic everyone finally gets to see just how exactly his "void" (AKA "infinite stash") works. Though traditionally used to store wealth, he can pull weapons out of this pocket dimension on the fly at the cost of some mana, and it merely looks like he's pulling things out from behind him.

Mir challenged Franz because she is pissed at what he did to Ren. Although Franz knew ahead of time, Mir disguised herself as a "mystery challenger" so as to hide the challenge from those that care about her (namely Ren and Ethea), but with Nova being a judge of course she'd see it no matter what. This takes place at around the final round of the tournament (thus making it a flashback). Franz doesn't want to fight Mir, but what's done is done.

Should my free schedule hold up, I will continue to draw the next parts of this comic. This is going to be 2 show fights happening in succession, so it should be interesting. Heh.

Really impressive comic ^w^ Franz shows now the ΓΌberbrutal self, rather than back at Sorgund :,D

I don't know if you can really argue that he's more brutal now. As far as body count and approach goes, one could make the argument that he's LESS bloody now. Although he does get a bit crazy in the arena he isn't really running around murdering people and is instead using his resources and intelligence to make changes instead of brute force.

Contrast that with the "Bone Shield" Skulhoarse, who in the Sorgund War days was an walking undead meat grinder who threw himself into columns of enemy soldiers and walked back drenched in the blood of countless Sorgund men and boys who their loved ones will never see just because the guilds told him to (as seen here [link] [link] ).

It's pretty interesting when you look at it that way. Ultimately though, it's still the exact same person. He's just going about things differently and has a better cause. Heh.

When you put it this way, i have to admit you have totally right. I guess i felt that way, because "he get a bit crazy" as you say xD He is not undead now, so these actions from him as a human, are looking more contrasted. After all, neither Lorren, nor Mir was a real "enemy", so they were not like a sorgund soldier.

Yupp, its interesting. Thanks for telling me these ^^

Granny hands

Well damn, that's one way to brutalize your opponent. Not quite as one sided as your earlier statements led me to expect, but it's not a bad thing. More interesting than just a one-sided brutal beatdown this way.

And, you know, Ravi's dialogue on Page 4 may be the most words he's ever said in quick succession without a pause or "= v =". Hah.
