Description You know how folks say the eyes of the Mona Lisa follow you around the room? The eyes of this little guy (donated to me by Pat:

thanks Pat!) do the most amazing thing, they really follow you! The piece isn't finished, just started this week, but I wanted to share this phenomenon with you guys. Kinda neat.

He he he... so cute! Your stuff is always the best. I noticed when I use those little taxidermy eyes in my work they tend to do that too. Sometimes it's kinda creepy... (when I'm home alone and I let my imagination get the best of me! lol)

I have been using fiber optic beads...sometimes I paint the iris and other times, I leave it as is...

oooh, spooky. I remember as a kid, my mother had an oil painting my father did of a tiger at a watering hole. I used to freak us kids out because no matter where in the room you went, the eyes followed. Love these eyes of Pat's that do the same. I know how it works with flat art, but have no inkling why these do it as well. Can't wait to see this one done, and by the way, I LOVE the one you have on eBay now!

very cool! I discovered this too when I used some amber colored beads for my dragon, the beads had white centers so whenever you moved it appeared that the dragon's eyes followed. I like this little character of yours Jill, can't wait to see it done!

I am just amazed at how clean you keep your clay and how smooth it is. I can't keep my space as clean as I would like since it sits right smack next to a patio door, and we also have three dogs and a cat!

Glass eyes will do that and that's why I love using them. They really bring creatures to life!

How do the eyes do that? Is there something in there that makes them move?

Good job, BTW. Looks a little Dobby-ish....

Actually, their semi-spheres of glass with the pupil and coloration painted onto the back side. No movement required...it's a trick of the eye.
