This is a lovely piece, but I can see what you mean about the rest of your work. I've really enjoyed going through your gallery, great stuff. I've never used anything but microcrystalline wax, tho you have me curious. I started with green roma back in the day and I guess I still favor it (old dog and all).

your sculpting talents are absolutely amazing! How much does this wax cost?

I'm flabbergasted!
Which is the best word I can think of at the moment.
That is a crazy amount of detail, and I've never heard of that kind of wax...
Is there an armature or two in there?

Oh wow. She's looking good! Great pose here. Is wax easy to work with? Is it similar to sculpey at all?

Nope, it's more like carving soap, only you can add on more hot wax if you screw up. It is easier for little stuff like this though, that's for sure, since you need to hold pieces like this (or I should say I do) while you are working. Id it were sculpy I would have had to bake in bits or I'd have smooshed all my detail. Thanks again Aoede!

Uwah! Amazing as usual XD I know I've asked you this before abut your clay, but...where do you buy your wax? I've only sculpted in modeling clay (which is awful and I hate it), and super sculpy. I'd love to try out this wax ^_^ I'm amazed at the detail...since it is so tiny!

Actually this wax... I've been recycling for the past 5 years, we made up our own batch doing a bunch of trials.. it wasn't until recently that I found I could buy more (which I really need to do!) ..OOPS I've been spelling it wrong (I do this a lot) it's AZBRO and you can find it at "the complete sculptor" or just type in [link] and look under waxes... it's there. Best pick up a wax pen if you wanna give it a try, makes the whole process much easier! Happy sculpting!!

hmm.. probably a little of both, when I smooth the wax I used turpentine and if I'm too clumsy it makes it a little rough looking... This wax can be sanded to a really smooth surface too, although that isn't what I did here.

Wow, really, really nice. You've done a great job capturing her movement here; she doesn't look static at all. I think I would have like to have seen just a little more definition in her abdomen (not a six-pack or anything) but this is still really lovely. I'm envious of your skills!
