This was the decade where videos games where big
Then the video game crash of 83 occurred
But in 1985 Nintendo would rise from the ashes and put video games back on the market

The A-Team is about 4 men who were accused of a crime they didn't commit, and they avoid the police while helping folks for money as they travel in a van.
Ad for the five animated Disney movies from the 80's I mentioned, they are:
"The Fox and The Hound" (1981)
"The Black Cauldron" (1985)
"The Great Mouse Detective" (1986)
"Oliver & Company" (1988)
and "The Little Mermaid" (1989)

Cool! I like that they look a bit dirty! The 80s started sad with the death of John Lennon. But I like that this was when the Indiana Jones films were made! I also like that this decade was when Michael Jackson made Thriller! And the 80s ended well, with the 3rd Indiana Jones movie, and the best Batman film!

Actually, I think that was the 70's. In the 80's, a lot of stuff was dark, mostly being black and red. I think then the 90's brought the color back.

I dunno. I still think the 80's had spectacular music (dare I say the BEST music in the world)! I wish more movies had that kind of music 'cause it sounds so powerful! In fact, if and when I make my own Jimenitoons movie and show, I'll make sure to use that kind of music! I love those synthesizers!
--
Well, that's not the kind of "dark" I meant. I mean, sure, he made films in the 80's, but over all, thry seemed timeless. So I don't really count those (except maybe Pee Wee).

I find myself listening to 80's tunes here and there, but it seems to be everywhere now. 90's alternative rock and ska are more my thing. Jazz, too. Life with Zoe would have a lot of Ska in it's soundtrack, and Zooapolis would have a lot of jazz.

Everywhere? I don't even hear it anymore except on the radio (and my iPod)! The only new 80's-styled song I have heard recently is Wreck-It, Wreck-It Ralph from the movie Wreck-It Ralph seeing how the Fix-It Felix, Jr. game is supposedly from the 80's. That song is darn catchy! It really sounds like an 80's song! www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hthcz…

Yeah, I like 90's songs, too! In fact, the 90's had the catchiest songs in the world at the time! The 80's had the most powerful and the 90's had the most catchy! I think that's the best way for me to describe them!

I see commercials featuring 80's songs, and many cartoons have 8-bit/synthesized soundtracks. Hell, they even look 80's(Uncle Grandpa/Regular Show/Steven Universe).
Powerful VS. Catchy, I could see that. I have to admire the 80's' melodrama.
Ska is kind of like rock combined with swing or reggae. Example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCKr4a…
Yeah, I've kind of neglected Zooapolis. Shame on me.

Part of it is to capture the feel of 90's shows like KaBlam and Ed, Edd and Eddy.
I think it fits the feel of Disney the most. Or, Nickelodeon could use some good shows.

JIMENOPOLIX In reply to EarthVStheDerek [2013-11-12 03:11:09 +0000 UTC]
Well, to be honest, it's Disney Channel that needs more cartoons. However, seeing how Zoe is the one with dangerous weapons that parents don't want their kids to use, maybe Nickelodeon would be available.

EarthVStheDerek In reply to JIMENOPOLIX [2013-11-12 03:39:53 +0000 UTC]
Both good points. I had a thought today, that Zoe would become what Bart Simpson was in the 90's. Basically a bad influence on kids, with parents' groups having a vendetta against her.

I think I feel the same way. But would it be better if she ends up learning a lesson at the end? You know, like if she were an example of everything a kid shouldn't do, which would teach kids lessons about the consequences of being a "brat"? Like Alex Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place?
--
Or would she come off as a kid who has a "lust for life"? You know, like someone who does bad things but has fun doing it, like Buddy Love from The Nutty Professor (the Eddie Murphy version).

Honestly, her love of weapons is a major part of her personality. I couldn't see her without it. I'm hoping she'll be seen a good hearted kid, who just happens to be off her rocker.

JIMENOPOLIX In reply to EarthVStheDerek [2013-11-12 20:11:30 +0000 UTC]
Meh, I could see her without them. I can just see her acting like a regular kid, kinda like 's character Marilyn: no weapons of choice, just exploration.
--
"Off her rocker?"
--
But oh well. She just better be careful with how she handles those weapons, or she could end up killing someone innocent.
I wonder what would happen if one of my Jimenitoons hung out with her...?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
EarthVStheDerek In reply to JIMENOPOLIX [2013-11-12 23:03:20 +0000 UTC]
I dunno. I think her eccentricity makes her unique, more than just a standard issue "adventurous kid." It's also one-upping the likes of Bart Simpson and Dennis the Menace. "Sling shot? Boring! My character has a crossbow and an Iberian mace." But, don't worry, Zoe would never do anything if she thought it could hurt someone. That is, unless they deserve it.
I can see Zoe being a fan of Penny Doodle, or tagging along with Corpsie or Tooth Fairy. I can't really think of a Jimenitoon she wouldn't get along with, other than possibly Dark Wizard, and she might even think he's cool.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JIMENOPOLIX In reply to EarthVStheDerek [2013-11-12 23:23:23 +0000 UTC]
I can see all that.
--
Well, Penny Doodle is kinda "insane," though she's apparently smarter. She just does her insanity acts just to make people laugh.
Corpsie, probably. Seeing how she has many "weapons," Corpsie wouldn't feel a sting if she were hit.
Tooth Fairy? I don't know. I mean, she has a shot tool herself, but no other tools that look dangerous. And, hey, just like that idea of skipping bath time, I'm guessing Zoe doesn't like brushing her teeth either, and the Fairy would be going on and on about her teeth.
--
Dark Wizard? Bad choice. He would slice her to pieces, starting with her head!
However, if she managed to fake her death in front of him, she could save herself.

How good a villain is Dark Wizard? I had this idea of him trying to do away with Zoe, but she keeps surviving, and won't leave him alone. Of course, if he caused trouble in her town, you can count on him getting a new enemy in the form a little brunette girl.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JIMENOPOLIX In reply to EarthVStheDerek [2013-11-12 23:50:57 +0000 UTC]
Well, I'm trying to pull him off as intimidating (just imagine the Joker with magical powers) while in his true colors, he's kind of a lame villain. He only uses his powers if he's holding his wand. Without it, he's just a regular being (except for the spell he cast on himself which allows him to survive any kind of peril; he cannot die, no matter how much you shoot and slice him).
--
He has this thing for chopping people's heads off, which comes off as a hobby.
He tries many comical ways to try and capture people and kill them (for no apparent reason; he just has fun doing it).
There's an obvious flaw in his spells and creations, but he hasn't figured it out, yet. So the Tooth Fairy and two kids always happen to stop his plans easily (even they're confused about how easily he's defeated).
--
Haha, that would be pretty funny!
Though the best way to stop him is to not be seen. If you're seen, he might as well zap you to nonexistence.
--
Hey, wait a minute! There's already a little brunette girl out to stop him! jimenopolix.deviantart.com/art…
