The frame provide a pleasant flowing eye path. The concept is very strong and refreshing. I empathize with her and wishing the tree would help out a drowning girl instead of just standing there...

Hehe. Yeah, it's suppose to be this concept that there are hundreads of mirrors on this great wall in this one palace, and each mirror is a sort of prison. Where the person just drowns forever.

Not in 3d if that's what you mean. The tree roots and such are suppose to be the frame.

Oh I meant make a physical frame out of wood or metal, etc. If someone was skilled enough, I think fused bluish glass for the elegant frame and a wood backing carved into the roots and tree. It'll make the roots look as though they were underwater. What do you think?

Oh, that's so nice. What sort of pencils do you use? The color is lovely. I especially like that her hair and the fact that the outline of the front of her face is black.

Actually I just used regular #2's. I put a color overlay on it in photoshop (I am a cheater, I know) I like people's eyes to be drawn to the figure as being distinct from the rest of the drawing. So I did an overlay and then just erased the part that had the drowning girl's skin in it.
