This took me at least 10 hours on an oekaki board using a mouse. I was impressed with myself when I had finished it... and aren't they just adorable together --pinches Sam's cheeks--Thanks to good ol' LOTR and it's official website for this one

it's an online drawing tool, if you google it you can find millions of boards, usually anime related. It's pretty weak in comparison to something you could get as a program (like paintshop or whatever) but it's got all of the basics and if you've had enough experience you can do some pretty amazing things 
there are quite a few oekaki boards out there and it's been so long i can't remember the names of the ones i used to visit now but they're like a community, you can really get to know other oekakiers out there

Well this one in particular is oekaki Paint BBS, i did it all on the same layer, much as one would go about painting a picture on canvas i suppose. I worked with a reference photo, so it's by no means very original. At the time I was in high school art class so i was learning a lot of self taught painting techniques. Lots of blending, colour matching, brush sizes, tons of attention to detail and a lot of playing around with different methods. I just worked really hard at it which anybody can do when they have inspiration

Wow, that came out beautiful!! Sam is by far my most favorite character in the book & I just can't wait to see how he is played at the end...my computer makes it seem a bit orangy, but still the overall feel you captured is great!
