Description I took this a while ago, last spring when I went to Japan. This is a small cemetary behind Zo Jo Ji, one of the shrines where a portion of Tokugawa Shogun's ashes has been put to rest. It was so peaceful behind the shrine, and Japanese cemetaries fascinate me with their design aesthetics and spiritual symbolism.

I, too, share a fascination with graveyards. I've never been to Japan, but I visit Emily Dickenson sometimes, and there are so many other intriguing locations here that I mean to visit and photograph.
