This is the linework for number 39: Dreams, in the art prompt project. I've been doing so much negative stuff for the art prompt that I really wanted to do something sweet. And I just finished Wolfrider in the digital EQ (thanks again Wendy and Richard!) and I am more upset now about how things turned out for Strongbow/Moonshade in that comic because they really got shafted hard. Stupid Bearclaw. So this is how things should have been, and it's also my homage to Wendy's illustration called "True Peace" with Cutter and his family.I feel like I'm starting to do better with likenesses of characters, which I'm stoked about. This is also the first time I've really drawn wolves, so be gentle. The great thing about drawing Elves in a pile of furs is that if you don't want to draw something, put some fur over it! That's not why Strongbow has some fur over his crotch, it's so he doesn't accidentally teabag Chitter. (And if you don't know what teabagging is- it's where you put your balls one someone's head. I don't know why anyone would want to do this, but then again, I don't have balls.)
*ahem*
I'm totally not going to color this right now, so screw you guys. But I will someday...when I have time and feel the need. But until then anyone can color it as they like! Just send me a note so I can see your work!

This is one of my all time favorite pieces of elfquest fan art. Seriously, in love with this piece. It's a perfect capture of what the family should have been. I would love to see this in color. You really did an awesome job capturing the characters... even Dart's weird flock of seagulls hairstyle.

This is my first attempt at digital painting..so I know I have a lot to learn but I just so fell in love with this when I first saw it..

This piece is so perfect - the wolves look like you've been drawing them for many years!
Again though, please consider coloring this b/c I know you will do the BEST job! I may color it at some point, but that will just be with Prismacolor colored pencils - I will give you all the credit for the line art and send you a link, but it won't be for a while I'm afraid - moving around A LOT - left pencils in storage

I don't think I can sell prints since the characters are all copyright to someone else...and Richard Pini actually posts alot on the Elfquest forums which I frequent...and then he would hate me and I would have to commit seppoku to make amends which would suck... lol

*blinks* Oh yeah....It was actually in the sketch, but somehow didn't make it to the final ink. I probably will change it when I get around to coloring it.

I like how Chitter and that wolf next to her seem to be running in their sleep. Can't keep still one second, can she?
I'm not sure what to think of Strongbow's knee though, but for a first time drawing wolves I applaud you, especially their faces look beautiful and expressive.

Yeah the knee is a bit funky isn't it. I think it looked better when it didn't have Dart and Chitter squished up against it. But now...meh. Maybe it'll look better when it's colored.
I originally had Chitter cuddled up against Crescent...but it didn't seem right. I figure her for the kinda kid that needs to sprawl or kick you in the kidneys to get comfortable.
