Your comment reminds me of a photo shoot. A photographer will take lots and lots of shots and be happy if a small percentage of them are keepers. Of course with drawing the process is slower, but a similar principle is in play. A weekly open studio provides an opportunity to challenge yourself with a variety of models, poses, perspectives, media, techniques, etc. All that aside, I think with any creative endeavor (writing, drawing, modeling) sometimes you get in a groove and sometimes it is more of a struggle.
In any case, what distracts me from this drawing is that the pose looks stiff and uncomfortable. I assume she's supporting her weight with the straight arm in the foreground. If you block out the left 25% and the bottom 25% the upper-right is a really nice expressive drawing.
