Description 11x14 oil on linen panel. Stolen light...I think this is better. That blue in the background is too blue but this picture was not doctored.

This I like John, and the blue is perfect to my eye. It warms the skin by complimenting the orange pigments. I knew I'd find something good in your closet.

She does look vulnerable and near defeat - but this is why this is such a powerful painting - it evoles enormous emotion and empathy for her.

Surely to depict emotion is what painting is all about, otherwise why not photograph her.
