Looks sweet, I'm currently painting a panoramic matte myself for an FX team on a project, and it's certainly challenging, I'm just lucky it's not 360 degrees. Is this something they would map to a sphere or would they project it?

exactly, a sphere will do, and will work for backdrops or reflections, original resolution is 12000 pixels wide

Awesome, thanks for the insight. I do concept art and matte paintings typically on production, but I haven't been heavily involved with the 3D and compositing side, so I'm always curious.
