Description My OC for the Samnites/Sanniti.
Created for fun using history and local stereotypes, no offense meant. If something is incorrect please warn me.
For more Italian OCs go here and for strips involving them go here .

Notes:

Though I called him Samnium he represents the Samnite people and not the territory over which they lived or their political government.
Samnites apparently called themselves Safineis and called the land they lived in Safinim so this should have been his true name... however as it would have probably made no sense for whoever isn't an Samnites' expert I've also left the name the Romans gave to his land.

Samnites were divided in 4 tribes, which I considered Samnium's children Pentri (Pentria), Hirpini (Hirpinia), Caudini (Caudinia) and Carecini (Carecinia). Later on the Frentrani (Frentania) will join them but, although it seems they've common ancestors, they weren't close enough to consider them as Samnium's children so, in my headcanon so, so far, Samnium is Frentania's uncle.

It's up to debate if the Samnites had a flag. The thing I placed in the flag's place is a shield those draw, according to some, was used as flag by the Samnites (or by one of their tribes).

Samnium's human name is Gaius Pontius, a Samnite commander during the Second Samnite War, who became famous for his victory over the Roman legions at the Battle of the Caudine Forks in 321 BC.

BTW the quote at the end of the profile is in Latin and is supposed to mean:
"War is just to those for whom it is necessary, and to take up arms is a sacred duty with those who have no other hope left."

Grazie!
