Description I think that this is my first photograph of 2008, taken 1.1 in Puolanka, Finland. The waterfall I was about to photograph was frozen almost shut so I decided to focus on some details and other things than the grander scenery.
These are some ices formed under the waterfall.

The layers in the ice and the different shapes inside as well as the bigger shapes is just amazing. Ice blocks here are just solid throughout.

These kind of ices only form under a rapid or a waterfall where the water is in motion spiraling around
