I've been writing on and off a bunch of fictional stories for the past decade but never felt I was a good enough artist to turn them into graphic novels. But I'm slowly starting to think the time has come to just jump in and start developing some of my personal projects I've been putting off. This is Princess Mokko, one of my main characters in my made up universe, Kingdoms of the Sun. I'll be working on more characters from the book whenever I get away from client work and start releasing them as a series of mag covers or magazine spreads while I edit and rewrite the sloppy writing I did at 16 years old. PS- Working on my new Cintiq has been nothing but magical!

Hey David, thanks for checking out my stuff! As for the book. I'm looking to release it some time mid next year. I have a lot of rewrites to do on my early drafts I did back when I was 16. Most of the stuff back then was just from my head but this time I want to do a lot of research on different african cultures, myths and legends just to get a feel for how to tell the story. Plus I'm also experimenting with which art style to use for the book. In the meantime, I'll be releasing characters from the book like the mag spread above, each time shedding a bit more light on the story before I release the entire thing. Also, look up some books from Charles Saunders and Frank M Snowden. Saunders specializes in African-based fantasy novels and Snowden was a leading expert on Africa's influence on Ancient Greece and Rome as well. Check them out!
And thanks, I'm glad you like the Jaegers because it was a lot of fun to make them. Although I wish the app gave me more options for customization, I am purchasing Photoshop this summer so I can edit and modify them more. Keep an eye out for more to come if you like!
