A work-in-progress *preview* render of my truck transformer....doing its thing.I've produced this in 3DS Max.
This was a personal project I started a long time ago, about a year before transformers came out. I'm a bit sick that i've only just started polishing it off now as I could probably have made a nice viral piece to tie in with the excitement the film was generating. You live and learn, eh!
Designing the transformation has been pretty tough - I had to split the truck up and add all the components whilst make sure that everything fitted within the truck. From a design aspect it's been a challenge, but one that i'm becoming quite happy with!
I'm looking forward to being able to show the full quality render. I might even composite it onto a live plate for some visual effects - if I have the time!

i'll never get to understand how this is even possible. okay there are programs and stuff, but that doesn't keep my mind from blowing up.

Thanks very much...designing where each bit goes and fitting it all together did turn my brain to mush a bit. The worst part has been splitting the model up and timing each part of the animation - and trying to keep a sense of balance, weight and size about the thing!

no wonder your subconscious is up for a nice and clean doodling sometimes.
for me it's just magic the way you manage to put all the things together for such smooth results.
