Okay, this is an acrylic on canvas painting, the first one I've done in a while. I'm happy with it because I think the actual painting is a little better than my usual acrylics. He's giving a sinister look, but he's smiling just a bit. It makes him look more wicked. XDRelated content

You totally own sinister, I must say. Something about him does look a bit creepy too. I think it could be your choice of colours - very atmospherical! ^^
I also love the shadows, higlights and details you got into his eyes. They're beautiful!

Very nicely done! I love this one with all the similar colors! HE doesn't appear sinister to me, but much more depressed. I love what you've done in the background to make the hair stand out! the hair is also lovely with all the colors and highlights. Beautiful work.

Thanks! I was at first concerned that he was a bit too feminine (the painting was a bit more so than the sketch) but I really think it's important to the picture now.

AWESOME~! He reminds me of Dream!!! You know, the new Dream who replaces the old Dream in the Sandman?? Ok I don't know if you know what I'm talking about, but aside from the technical and aesthetic aspects of this pic, I'm sure other Sandman fans would love this one!!

I watered down the paint. I let it dry a little bit but not all the way (or else it's permanent!) And then I took a crumpled paper towel and lightly pressed it in random places on the canvas. I hope that helps!

He looks like he could use some sleep, LOL! To me the lips don't look so much like a slight smile as they do slightly pursed... Kiss of death perhaps?

the intensity of his eyes is startling, I love the "go on...I DARE you" look. His jaw linei s beautiful, it actually looks like he has a jaw structure under his skin. But the underhanging darkness of his eyes makes him look so tired, like he's ready to lie down and let go, but he keeps on because he has nothing else to live for but himself.

Yeah, I find watercolor to be easier. But like anything else, acrylic just takes some practice.
