i think i fall in love with an artist's style when i see how they can get their characters to express so much emotion. always been a weakness of mine that i'm trying to work on.
plus i gotta better define my style so that schools don't just laugh and call it "anime" and toss me aside.

pencil brush again, except for one but it stands out pretty well.
Yes. Even a year ago I didn't understand anatomy, just drew what I saw without even actually looking at reference. Reference is everything. Whether it's taking figure classes, or looking at a photo of a person and measuring out their proportions.
If you looked at my Fenix Expressions description, you'll see that I used someone's expressions as reference. But I also have tons of art books at home with expression sheets like 'Tangled' and Art of Sean Galloway books.
Get what you can. If you see something you like, actually try to copy it then apply what you like about that expression or pose or character design!!!

Geez, I know reference is important, but this much.. oh well, I could have guessed that myself.
Yep, now I read that description, look who doesn't have her attention everywhere, oops.
I guess... practice it is then, not like that's bad or new.
Yup, Photos and not-moving classmates will be my references. ♪
