Background for pic: Shepard and Liara are at the hospital on the Citadel waiting to see Ashley shortly after Mars. Shepard kind of fell asleep on Liara.Liara looks sad/pensive for two reasons, one being Ashley's condition. The second is that she's in love with Shepard but the Commander has yet to return her feelings...and well, Shepard being that close and snuggly against her doesn't help things.
Shepard will stop being dense someday and return those feelings later on.
