It’s really a long story to be translated, so I guess I can spoil some plots first for you~!

In the story, the 9th human—Jill—falls into the Underground, and she meets King Mettaton, and their journeys both begin. Jill finds that the Underground is a happy wonderful paradise to live in because the King who rules the Underground is really nice to her. However, Mettaton has a secret—why he can rule the Underground so well, and this is the secret that never be revealed…until Jill’s coming…

My motivation to write this story is that I was thinking about the neutral route King Mettaton’s ending. In this ending, he seems to feel regret for Alphys, just like for Blooky when he was on the stage getting his audience’s calling. So, I started thinking about his feeling for those he really cares about: his friends, his cousin Blooky, even all his fans or anyone who loves him. We can’t see anything even when we finish the game! So, does Mettaton really hide and conceal his real feelings and emotions under that big smile forever? As I thought of this, the King’s ending—how he rules the Underground, and that he can’t find Alphys to help him rule—appeared in my mind again. Then, I decided to write this story, trying to depict his internal struggles and fears inside.

Anyone who reads this story or loves Mettaton can see himself/herself as Jill (Just like we play as Frisk in the game) to start the journey with Mettaton. It’s the story that readers and Mettaton are protagonists, and readers can enjoy the story just like they are playing a game about what would happen after the original Undertale story if being on the neutral route King Mettaton’s ending.
