I've been rummaging through some of my old things lately, and found my hefty collection of NEC The Tick comics. I was an avid collector when I was a young lad, but haven't bought an issue since 2001. That said, it doesn't seem like much has changed for the big blue guy in the last 11 or so years...

Anyway, these are a few of my favorite characters, anyone only familiar with the cartoon probably won't recognize a few of the faces, though.

Edit: Since it seems that most people are indeed not entirely familiar with some of the comic only characters, I thought I'd give a quick run down of who's who.

The Tick is obviously the big blue namesake of the comic, with the white rabbity guy being Arthur, his mid-life-crisis having ex-accountant sidekick. The lady in yellow is Oedipus, a teenage ninja parody of Marvel's Elektra, while the bovine on the left is the Man-Eating Cow, a farm critter with an astoundingly well developed sense of morality. The drooling maniac in the back is Barry, the OTHER Tick who challenges our hero for the name. The smiley faced maniac is the Chainsaw Vigilante, a normal guy sick of wannabe superheroes playing pajama police in his backyard. He shocks would be heroes out of their delusions with deftly executed knicks and cuts from his weapon. He's ASTOUNDINGLY good at fighting super people, considering he's just some guy.

That's everybody. There's a ton more neat characters, but this handful is my personal favorite.
