True, yet I feel like a anthro-sabertooth might really spice things up. You know, white walls look better with some color splashed on them, maybe red...

*chuckles* This fellow doesn't seem terribly fearful, on the other hand.

This is gorgeous, what is the story behind this!?

They're characters of ~ArgentFatalis - basically the story of a sentient smilodon who mysteriously exists in the modern day "real" world, and works for a secret American intelligence agency who is both his employer and captor.

I'm trying to figure out the posing of his left paw. :S Either way, that suit is obviously ruined.

jocarra In reply to seltaya [2013-06-08 22:57:26 +0000 UTC]
Aha, yeah, it's hard to see! Here's the original way I had drawn the paws, you can see the left paw more clearly: [link]
And yes, while the cat knows better than the kill the human, at least he can take satisfaction in wrecking his suit :b :V

seltaya In reply to jocarra [2013-06-10 22:33:39 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes, that makes much more sense now. It's just what happens when you grab a handful of someone's suit, and suddenly claws. It's sticking out like that because it wrapped around his paw-fist. XD

This is awesome! How do you paint such realistic fur? especially the shorter fur on the face

jocarra In reply to Sascha-Snowstorm [2013-06-08 20:44:28 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much! I have a realistic fur tutorial out already, but for the shorter fur, I've found using [link] the noisy texture brush is great for really short hair (like on the muzzles) as well as skin texture/pores, gives a sort of a grainy look. For the slightly longer short hair, I find using the hair brush in very very short strokes can work, along with the noise brush and some manual scribbling/hair-by-hair work with a fine brush (1-4px depending on scale).

awesome, I'll try those brushes. only starting with custom brushes, so I'm still trying to find out how to use them and which ones. I used a speckled brush I made in my last painting for fur and it worked well
