It’s inadvertent, but this one kinda reminds me of neapolitan ice cream. That aside, I really like it. ^_^ Anyway, there’re a number of significant things to note (but I’m only pointing out the most obvious two):
No school uniforms
- This chapter will be the first to take place almost entirely outside of the school setting. People have wanted it, I’ve wanted to do it, and finally my chance has come. Should be fun.
That girl on the right
- You don’t know her yet. Yes, I’m still introducing characters. There’ll be three new ones in this chapter, but I don’t foresee any need to add more for a while afterward. Not to say I don’t have more characters planned, but it will probably be a long time after this chapter before I bring any other new folks in.
Other subtler things
- I dunno. There’re a lot of things. Most of it will be more obvious by the end of the chapter.

This comment is posted on the same day as I began reading chapter 3. I know you would want me to be unjudgemental on comments. So I post a comment before reading the next page. Hope that is okay.
To be honest, seeing the transgender pride flag for the first time really made me think of ice cream as well. It wasn't until this pic that I realize that the colors are for boys, girls, and those in between. Kind of stupid to say that, but I'm glad to learn it from you.
long with the normal questions, I can question their placement. Rain is in the center reading, telling me that she is more of an observer in this chapter. Gavin is looking away telling me that he may deal with some real personal issues. The girl on the right, by simple understanding, must be a catalyst to confront Gavin with his problems. The problems, however, are probably the simplicist to figure out. Most likely its in the title, and how its perceived.
Either way, it will be great to have a moment to read about Gavin, all in all I still don't believe him to be an ass. If anything, he is no different than Rain. Being young and confused as he finds his own way in life. That thought alone makes this a difficult chapter to swallow for anyone. But on the other end, I would see the girl as cute, but her pose is really thatof a strong independant woman. And her expression probably says she won't deal with belly aching for long.
Either way, that's my theory. Hope it holds water through the chapter.

I'm not sure if this counts as a spoiler or not (because I think a lot of people are expecting the same thing), so I'm just going to say it: there ARE going to be other trans people in the story. Obviously, I won't say who or when that would be revealed though. ^_^

You know, that's actually a somewhat difficult question to answer. There's no party, per se (not yet anyway). There might be things you'd normally see at a party though. ^_^
