Description This in keeping with the previous "mutation" re-designs I'd done of Adam Gantry and his nemeses...

I kept Mathicroix more roughly humanoid than the other monsters, with maybe the tiniest influence from Geiger's Alien. His mouth and long neck seem to have stemmed from the Norris-Thing in Carpenter's "The Thing". Indeed, I ended up coming up with something a bit more reptilian in appearance than the big green fat guy - I figure he was probably still round in his normal human guise, but when he mutated the body mass was redistributed.

I also ditched the cybernetic devil-horns, but kept the idea of the right half of his body having been altered. In this case, however, I had him get caught in a blast in mid-mutation (probably from some horrified schmoe trying to kill whatever it was originally that suddenly started rearranging its own body parts in front of him). The resulting burns probably caused a further genetic reaction, giving the burned portion of his skin a more mesh-like texture - as well as enhanced physical strength and capability in that portion of his body that was initially damaged in the blast. I think maybe that aspect of the design may have come from the classic notion of any injury to the monster/mutation only compounding the problem rather than providing a key to solving it - maybe that might have been influenced by "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" and even "Alien" where the creatures' respective blood types turn out to be as deadly to human exposure as the monsters themselves. In Mathicroix's case, his healing ability makes him invulnerable to any further injuries of the same type.
