Sadly, the front of Diamond's face is obscured by a small theoretical phoenomenon that sucks in all light except around the edges. I think it's called a "drama wormhole"

Anyway, I love the crowd scene, though I wonder why it's there. I mean, I understand the idea of putting it there to reinforce the idea that the "life-as-we-know-it" is threatened, but it kinda comes of as irrelevant.... Well, that's just my humble opinion, anyway...
Still, ya got me hanging on the edge of my seat. (Literally)

That's precisely the idea. It disconnects from the characters for a moment, yes, but since I noticed that the past few pages were filled with medium and close up shots of the characters, a break from it would be welcome and would heighten the drama. Plus, I wanted to try my hand at another urban scene. I really love drawing 'em, even though they're complex (and partly because of it!)

That's cool, man. Reading your comment about the 'last few pages' reminded me that you might actually be getting somewhat bored and want to try shifting gears a bit.
