Description This is the second non-anthro horse I've ever drawn, so please bear with me if some of the elements don't intermesh quite properly.

This guy looks like he's chasing down some fleeing noobz after a rousing PvP match.

"You go home and tell your mothers that you just got owned by a bunch of furry tube socks!"

The cavalier portrayed here is an Uhlan, a light cavalry lancer in a resplendent uniform supported by supple leather armor. His tail appears absent because it is tucked into a special bag to protect it- a common trick in a fight is to grab a hold of a Sabalazmon's long tail and use it to yank the rider off their mount. Tucking it away prevents that from happening.

While culturally and genetically similar to the Rosomai, the Sabalazmon retain a strong racial hatred for their neighbors. Some say that this is the result of a long and memorable history of murder and thievery between the two, constant harassment by bands of raiders. Some, however, say that this is because the Rosomai are the only race in Sejhat that actually knows how to fight them.

The Sabalazmon are sable and ermine based humanoids living in the rather lawless frontier of the Azek Khanate. As members of the Beastfolk Alliance they have enjoyed a technological and social leap in the decades following their enrollment. While much more organized and modern than they once were, the Sabalazis' vicious nature can be seen the moment they enter battle.

They are masters of the bow, lance, and scimitar, and as a steppe people almost all of them are superb riders. Facing them in open battle is often disastrous, as they envelop, feint, and whittle away at their enemies by both day and night. When confronted by heavy troops or superior forces they simply melt away into the countryside, waiting for the next opportunity to arise. Fighting the Sabalazmon is an exercise in stomaching one's fear.

Pretty damn inspiring work there Jodi! My question is, where is this guys flintlock? If the Vucari, the humans, and the Dwarves got em, theres no reason the other species couldnt use them.

Sometimes these guys carry pistols, but a lot of the time when they want mobile firepower they still rely on the composite bow.

I think you brought this up on FA; the fact that bows were actually more effective then firearms til the development of rifles. The problem is that its easy to equip hordes of peasants with muskets and have them go at it. I guess these guys are pretty damn hardcore, but they still better hope the enemy doesnt outnumber them by too much.
