Hey man, I think you did a great job on this piece. Not to be a first-time-commenter-critic, but I'd just like to present a suggestion: your grasp of gesture and color and tone and texture are so great, it's a travesty to see your painting brought down by unrealistic feather anatomy, distribution and placement. Don't get me wrong, I wish I had some of the emotive knack you have for compostion, but a few studies of avian anatomy might take your believability to a whole new level!
