This is a preview of the Metroid Prime piece that NeroKarasu requested! I'm still colouring it though, hopefully it will be ready real soon!!!So what you guys think? Is it looking cool??

Wow. This is so realistic to what it's like playing through Metroid Prime it's insane--the tangle of movement and the urgency of the situation at hand really come through the great work you've done here so far. The shading is lovely--it looks like you your hands are steady, as in some areas of this piece the shading looks feathered--like it was applied very delicately. I'm in love with this piece.

Now answering your question:
first of all I think that it's because of always watching Joe Madureira's artwork wich influenced me a lot! Then I just use different pressures on the pencil; i.e-low pressure for the bg shadows and high pressure for the
silhouete and the in shadows of the characters(to make them stand out of the rest)! You can also use this technique with 2 different pencils(wich probably will be more easy)-One smooth for the bg and another rough for the characters.
Hopefully this explanation will help answer your question.

Depends how you look at it, it looks like Samus is doing a side-sweep kick-like attack on the Ghost Chozo in front of her lol. Or she's going to kick it's leg. XD
I've always thought it would be cool fighting Ghost Chozos

Samus pose is kinda hum, eccentric, but it's still in motion. Non-dynamic pics are boring, good thing this is totally dynamite. ^^ Love your chozo ghosts btw. The bg seems nifty as well.

I think it looks great. Those buggers drove me crazy even after I got the X-Ray Visor. Speaking of crazy, I love how you made them look as if they'd gone insane, which is definitely the case. I also love the background; right away I knew where this was.
