The center part espescially is so very Gotham City-art deco...the whole thing is really ominous, like a multitude of gathering storms. Nifty.

No, I don't think so. The centre is perfectly vertical. But the spirals on the right and left get closer to the middle as you go up the picture -- that might give the slanting illusion.
