Description So I've been struggling a bit lately with art block. Hence why I haven't been very active lately. I want to apologize to the people I owe art to. I will get it done. I just have to get out of my head. I wish I could figure out what brings this on. It really makes it hard for me to be productive, or professional when I suffer from this. Somewhere along the way I lost my passion for this. I've got to get my fire going again. Maybe I need to get back to the basics. Start polishing up on my anatomy and gesture drawings. I just don't know. I promise you this. I will figure it out. I will get my grove back!

Any who....

Here's a drawing of Conner Kent. One of my favorite titans. This guy just had it rough. I really liked how they portrayed him in the Young Justice cartoon. While watching the show I realized how much him and my character Catalyst are alike. Any way! Enjoy people!

For some reason I feel the need to tell you to draw something with Native American theme or vibe. Buckskin, feathers, turquoise, warrior?Β

Hope your art block makes your brain vomit something amazing when it breaks

LOL it's funny you should say that. I used to do a lot of art like that in my younger years. The joys of living in Oklahoma!

Thanks Emby! That's the best comment I've heard in a long time!

Nice!

My problem is less artblock and more the desire to share with others, hehe... Yet, whenever I get an art block it is usually because I've "lost that loving feeling" for the process of making art. I find I get so focused on wanting the perfect end result that I forget that the process/ journey of making art is just as important and rewarding. To get out of my head and back to this love of basics I do various art studies... *shrugs** It seems to work for me most of the time... that or pouring through things that inspire me (viewing other artists' work I aspire to, listening to ArtCasts, etc.) till I overload with art zeal, haha, that works too... Waiting for inspiration (or a new muse) doesn't work for me. I need to hunt it down, harpoon it through the head, and drag it back kicking and screaming, until it works for me.

Best wishes on your quest...

-P.A.

You shouldn't be afraid to show the work. You cannot grow without others insight. Even though at times people are idiots and do not know how to give proper critique. Probably my biggest downfall as an artist was/is I focus on my speed and less about the process of building the work. I try to rush through and get to the finish line without taking the proper steps. It's made me rather lazy. Then other times I will struggle with something simple. I believe a lot of it comes from the art being more of a job now. Kinda killed the thrill. I'm still learning though. It's been a long hard road.

Thank you for the kind words!

Also I owe you art work! so get with me about that!

Thanks. I'm gonna be posting more art again. You're right, I need to share so I can grow.

I too, get in a hurry and rush things. Honestly, for the past year I feel like I'm struggling with everything, artistically speaking...

And you're most welcome!

Yes, I will have to get back to you on that... The character I want you to draw I don't have a reference posted yet. Soon though!

Nice lighting and posture. No easy way to say this but if you lost your spark all you can do is take a break. Wait for your creativity to come back. Do my dumb sktches. Stick people and such

I can't help you with your art, but if you ever need someone to vent to, I can help. I'm terrible with pom-poms, but I'll still cheer you on. You'll figure it out!

It's something that plagues everyone. The best thing for you to do is to not come down hard on yourself. Stress and worry can cause your mind to limit your productivity, not just work wise but also creatively. Back to basics, back to what really makes your muse kick into gear is a good starting point. Take frequent breaks, distract your mind with something stimulating. Reading, games or movies definitely help stir it up. Β

Β  I tend to write (try to lol) mini stories of my characters, or play games like Marvel Heroes, Skyrim or Tekken to stir up the mind ^^
Β  Β I love everything about this picture, it has a lot of emotion packed in.

Yea, you're right. Coming down on myself is very counterproductive. It's also something I do way too much. I'll get passed it though. I can assure you of that!

I used to make music, and such when I couldn't draw. That hasn't really been something I've been able to do in a long time (more block). Gaming is probably the worst thing for me to do. While I find them inspiring at times. I tend to immerse myself in it. That is no bueno!

Thank you for your kind words on the art! I've been rather inspired by your work as of late. Really got me wanting to work more on character interactions, and emotion. As well as those gorgeous backgrounds you do!

Β hehe, oh I know what you mean. XD I'm guilty of losing hours in games too. especially when the game is soo soo much fun and rich.

thank you so much. I am really glad my art inspires you
