Description
The Original Boss of Mortal Kombat. Shang T'sung is a sorcerer loyal to Shao Kahn. He is the host of the Mortal Kombat Tournament held on Earthrealm to decide the fate of the realm. When Raiden's chosen mortals defeats all of the outworld contestants, Shang Tsung is the final opponent for Liu Kang to battle, but he too is defeated and this puts a stop in Outworld's streak of victories, Shang tsung is then reprimanded by Shao Kahn. Shang devises a backup plan to undo their defeat by luring the earthrealm heroes into Outworld for a new tournament. Now awarded his youthful appearance he watches over the new tournament. When it appears earth will win, Shang joins forces with Quan Chi to form a deadly alliance, despite this they are still defeated and Shao Kahn is seemingly killed shortly after.
He is once again reprimanded by a revived Shao Kahn, who then claims Shang Tsung's soul and uses it to over power his revived Queen Sindel.

Despite being killed in this timeline, Kronika's time distortion event is able to bring Shang T'sung forward through time from the past. However, he refuses her offer to change his fate and so he hides in the shadows. He returns to his secret Island, where he finds it abandoned and left in ruins. Here he stays, watching and waiting...
