J.C. the Hybrid's Origin Chapter One

J.C. and Suki were leaning against a tree, thinking about their family. It has been a long time since they remembered them.

Both: How long has it been?

They looked back at what their lives use to be before their family disappeared. A long time ago, J.C. and his family use to be human. Then, one day, a lab accident turned them into mobians. J.C. also had a different name. But he forgot about it since the day he and his family became mobians. He was the hybrid of a hedgehog, wolf and bat. He had gray fur, blue hedgehog spikes, black bat wings, a gray and white wolf tail and blue eyes. His clothes were a blue and gray shirt, a black and red jacket, blue jeans, black fingerless gloves, and blue and white sneakers.

J.C.'s mother was known as Barbara the Hedgecat and J.C.'s father was known as John the Hedgebat. Barbara had with and tan fur, light brown hair and brown eyes. Her clothes were a green and tan jacket, light blue jeans, a black and dark blue shirt, white fingerless gloves, black and red sneakers and a gold cross around her neck. John had light brown wings, tan skin, dark brown hedgehog spikes and light blue eyes. His clothes were a dark blue and gray jacket, glasses, light blue and dark blue plaid shirt, dark blue jeans, blue and gray sneakers, blue fingerless gloves and a silver cross around his neck.

J.C. also has nine siblings, including Suki, seven uncles, five aunts, five grandparents, two mothers on Suki's side of the family and numerous cousins J.C. lost count on.

Three years came and went since the lab accident. After a word with the government, J.C. and his family lived on with normal lives. Most of J.C.'s siblings got jobs, along with some of J.C.'s aunts, uncles and even his parents. Barbara became a waitress for a couple of years and later became a nurse. John studied medicine and plants for a year and a half until he decided to work on repairing computers. The family even started building churches around town. The family didn't mind becoming mobians after that lab accident. But then, came a day that would change the lives of the family forever.

One day, Barbara and John were working on some plans on constructing a new church when they hear a knock on the door.

Barbara: What was that?

John: I think it came from the door. Let's check.

They both walked to the door, but when they opened it, there was no one was there.

Barbara: Strange. Could've sworn there was someone knocking.

(John sees a note on the door)

John: Hey, a note.

They both look at the note.

Note: To Barbara the Hedgecat and John the Hedgebat. We heard you use to be humans before a lab accident and heard you've been building churches, but we've got something that might interest you. You have been invited to G.U.N. for a special meeting. We heard about your knowledge with cybernetics, and amazed by it, we want you to come over to the G.U.N. Base. Take some time to think about it, if you want, but if you're not interested, we won't force you. We'll understand. Signed, the Commander of G.U.N.

(Barbara and John looks at each other, wondering what they should do)

One week came and went since Barbara and John got the note. Soon, they arrived at the G.U.N. Base. The doors began to open. They both held hands and took a deep breath.

Both: Here goes nothing.

The doors open and they both walk inside. They walked down the hallway of the G.U.N. Base. There were a lot of soldiers and workers there. Some of them glanced at Barbara and John.

Barbara: Some of them are looking at us.

John: My guess, because we're mobians.

(Suddenly, they both run into something)

Both: What the...?

They both look to see a human woman. She had peach-colored skin, a slim figure, blue eyes and sandy brown hair. She was also wearing a dark blue combat suit.

Woman: Oh, sorry about that. I was on my way to a meeting, and I didn't see you both. Are you okay?

John: Yeah, we're okay.

Woman: Oh, hey, aren't you Barbara the Hedgecat and John the Hedgebat?

Barbara: Yeah. We were told to come here. The Commander said he had a meeting for us and that it involves our knowledge of robotics.

Woman: Well, if you're looking for his office, it's just up ahead.

John: Thanks. Let's go, Barbara.

Barbara: Okay, John.

(They both started walking, but stopped for a moment and looked at the human woman)

Barbara: Say, what's your name?

(The woman looks at them and smiles)

Woman: It's Topaz.

Later, Barbara and John arrived at the office and knocked on the door. A voice tells them to come in and the door slowly opens. There, sitting in a chair was a man. It was the Commander of G.U.N. and smiles. He tells them to take a seat and they did.

Commander: So, you're Barbara the Hedgecat and John the Hedgebat?

Barbara: Yes. You wanted to see us?

Commander: Indeed. I heard about the both of you and your family, about you once being humans, correct?

John: We use to be, a long time ago. Then, a lab accident happened.

Commander: Have any of you thought about being humans again?

Barbara: Not anymore. Now we get to study Mobians. We still have memories from when we were humans.

Commander: I heard you had one kid who had some issues.

John: Yeah, our son.

Commander: What's his name?

Both: J.C. the Hybrid.

Commander: What does the J.C. stand for?

Barbara: It's a long story.

Commander: Anyway, down to business. I understand that the both of you have been studying robotics. Care you tell me why?

John: Well, aside from building churches, we want to help people.

Barbara: Right. We saw some humans and Mobians suffered serious injuries, and some involve losing an arm, a leg or even an eye.

John: We have a few family members who also had some trouble. Two daughters and a woman in our family.

Commander: Really? What happened to them?

John: Our daughters, Bella and Suki, each lost a leg. Bella lost her left leg during a marathon run and Suki lost her right leg in a hunting accident.

Commander: And the woman?

Barbara: Kim? Car accident, years ago.

Commander: Car accident?

Both: She doesn't talk about it.

Commander: Very well. Now, then, I had a look at your profiles. I can tell you're both quite skilled. I bet the both of you would do great things for both human and Mobians.

Barbara: That's why we got your note. We heard you had something for us.

Commander: I do. I want to other you both a job in creating robotic implants for humans and Mobians. I have another scientist who is working as well. What do you both say? Do you want to join?

John: Give us a second to talk it over.

Commander: Go ahead.

(They both walk out of the office)

Barbara: So, should we do it?

John: Well, we need the money.

Barbara: What would the rest of the family think of this?

John: My guess, they'll want us to do it.

Barbara: What about our son?

John: Which one?

Barbara: J.C.

John: He's still concerned about the past, huh?

Barbara: Kind of. He's happy being a Mobian, although do you think he misses being a human?

John: Maybe a little. He's our son and we won't abandon that thought. I still remember that his real name was gone forever.

Barbara: You think it's best that he stays with "J.C."?

John: Probably for the best. He doesn't even remember it anymore.

They both thought for a minute and agreed to do the job. They walked back into the Commander's office and they both held out a hand.

Both: We'll do it.

Commander: That's great. You both start next week.

(The Commander then shook hands with Barbara and John)

The next week, Barbara and John arrived at the G.U.N. Base. They arrived at their desks and started setting things up. They set up blueprints, a couple of mugs, toolboxes, office supplies, and to top it all off, they both left a picture of the family on their desks.

Barbara: Now that we finished, let's meet our new partner.

John: Right, let's go.

(They look at the picture of their family, especially their son, J.C. and smiled)

Both: Wish us luck.

They leave their office and walk down the hallway, until they reached a door that said, "Lab". The door opens and they looked to see the Commander and a scientist with an orange mustache and blue glasses.

Commander: Ah, John and Barbara. Glad you're here. This is your lab partner, Ivo. I hope the three of you will make a great team.

John: Thanks, Commander.

Commander: Well, go ahead and get to work. I know you three will be really busy with robotics.

(The Commander leaves the lab and Ivo shook hands with Barbara and John)

Ivo: Nice to meet you two.

Barbara: Same here, Ivo.

John: So, what made you become a scientist here in G.U.N.?

Ivo: My grandfather, Gerald was an inventor and he inspired me to become a scientific genius just like him. What about the both of you?

Barbara: Been studying robotics so we can help people. Eventually, the Commander offered us a job here.

Ivo: I see. Now with the introduction out of the way, let's get to work on the future of robotics.

Barbara: Sounds good, Ivo!

John: By the way, what is your last name?

Ivo: Robotnik.

John: Your name is "Ivo Robotnik"?

Ivo: Yes.

(They both looked at each other, but didn't say anything)

Both: Nice to meet you, Ivo Robotnik.

They three of them then got to work on robotics, hoping to change the future of both humans and mobians.
