"the start of a new beginning"

Such a perfect representation of what a planet looks like, I'm curious how you rendered this. Are you a photoshop pro, or terragen? :thumb84534010:

Entirely done in Photoshop. But I don't consider myself a pro...

this really stands out of all other spaceart we usually see. it's different in colors and the execution. and the rings suit very well.. you're an artist, not a scientist. amazing work.

Thank you for your words. I know - I'm trying to tell the people all the time but they somehow seem not to understand that art don't have to correspond with reality (in my opinion it even shouldn't).

Thx - I was tired of those simple carbon planets and wanted to make some gas giant... ...although I think it still could have been done better - I'm happy about the outcome of my first attempt. Thank you.

To start off with the good points, the nebulae are really awesome, great combination of light and dark which makes it look like you've really been studying the Hubble pictures. Very good work and attention to detail! The texture on the big planet is also a nice piece of work, particularly near the middle where there are noticeable structures like the flowing of bands of atmosphere. I can say I really like these elements.
Unfortunately, the texture on the big planet implies that the equator is vertical. That makes the ring position incorrect - there are good reasons why the ring would form in the equatorial plane not at a huge angle, and this just makes my physicist brain (a tedious affliction which leads to pedantry) scream "this is wrong" at me. Similarly the position of the moons, which would have to be in the ring plane for the system to "work".
Sorry about the crits but this image is just so close to being truly awesome...
