Description For current Challenge @ #Spinners--End [link]
I wanted to attempt to illustrate the form of magic that isn't mentioned in the books, and quite possibly, not anticipated by their author. Snape is depicted here casting what, to me, is his most impressive spell: Transcending a dismally lonely life and violent death, he is becoming a Muse. And for all that is written, drawn, discussed and debated about this character, it cannot be denied that he inspires people and their imaginations. To me, that is both real - and magical.

Very powerful colors and intimate emotions in this. His gaze is penetrating and it pulls me in. To me (and this may seem silly) It is like he is searching for something and found it in "me" the viewer. Now that he has my attention I must be made to understand to bare witness. Very inspiring muse.

Bloody hell, this painting is so gorgeous! I am struggling to find my way back to creating Snape inspired artworks and this work of yours hit me like a bomb, it is wonderful, so vivid, really magical and very much Snape!

Wow. This is one of the most complex Snape expressions I've seen around. Very unsual (in a very good way ), so much depth there. So very complex. You can see the pain somewhere underneath all the layers if you look for it, yet you also see... The fact that he is keeping you out of his head. That he knows more about you than you about him. Am I going insane????

I like the hint of dark mark too, you only see it after you've been staring at the picture for a while. Wow. It's even growing on me as I'm writing really, great job!! love it!!

Thank you so much - it means a lot that you like him This was (I think) the only image of him looking at the viewer I've done, so that was odd in itself; it definitely gave a different mood to the piece. And you're certainly not going insane I get the same impressions myself, a certain knowing detachment, along with a bittersweet feeling of contentment and peace.
Hope you have a moment to participate in this one, it runs to 10/ 9 I think

lol I was awake yesterday night at 3am in my bed thinking of Snape drawings... Unfortunately (?) I had lots of ideas unrelated to the challenge but maybe one of them could fit in. I would definitely like to take part in it. Either way there will be some new Snape in my gallery soon.

Oh and I hadn't seen the latin title. Yay for that! What is it, new beginning? New start?

Well, a stunning image and a magnificent concept... I especially love it because it was precisely the topic of my latest letter to - the spiritual aspect of the character, so important and valuable for me, though I don't do any creative work, alas...
