Animal cartoon work seems to be your best thing that you can draw Joey, and it shows here, because I LOVE these sketches! Mostly because THEY LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE CARE BEARS!

Let me explain, Care Bears look like Teddy Bears. Because of THAT, they look overly cute, chubby, and like an excuse to sell toys. YOUR bears however are a lot like REAL bears! They're cartoony yeah, but they have a more recognizable shape!

The designs sort of remind me of the bears in Disney's TaleSpin, because their bodies are proportionate and have noticeable arms and legs in comparison to the cotton candy bears these sketches are based on. It helps that some bears DO have hair, which also helps each of them be more recognizable from each other, because even PONIES have different hairstyles along with their cutie marks.

It also helps that they're not all just HAPPY. There's a curious one, a sleepy one, a sad one, a joyful one, a proud one, Grumpy, and a surprised one,! Only one seems like a normal Care Bear, but even that one is still well drawn and enjoyable!

To be honest, I hope this show is gonna be good, because I'd like to see more of these characters in colored form! Or better yet, that show should die, and YOU should do the next reboot!

These sketches find the right balance between cute and entertaining that Friendship is Magic has. The charm comes from the designs you've used, and humor comes from the characters' actions and expressions! And as usual, your expressions cease to amaze me Joey.

Bottom line, for a show that hasn't aired yet, this is some GREAT art based on the franchise, improving on the most annoying aspects on it, and even staying visually appealing in Black and White.

HOWEVER, consider drawing MORE of these character's Joey, even if it's separate from the show's canon! Heck, you could take off their marks and just make them regular BEARS! There's a lot of potential with most of the ones you did and this piece of art really brightened up my day! I'd LOVE to see more bears in your deviations tab! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Cool! Not sure why, they kinda remind me of the Bone Cousins from Jeff Smith's "Bone" (maybe it's the way you drew their poses/hands and feet)

It probably won't happen in the new show, but wouldn't it be great to see an old villain of theirs in a new light? - [link]

Well I'll give you this.. it's MUCH better than what the Hub has in mind. You sketches design-wise are original.. and they show personality.
