Description
This comic was the final assignment I did at SCAD. Our assignment was to do four page comic sequence of our choosing (either being an original idea or based on something else if I remember correctly). I was at a loss of what to do at first, then I remembered that I always wanted to adapt this sequence from the indie game Freedom Planetin comic form.
My main focus here was making the backgrounds look a bit more detailed, trying out a lot of perspective shots that I hadn’t done much before. As for the characters I decided to use the costumes and character proportions of the first game along with the colors/fur patterns of the newer designs from the upcoming sequel, creating a fusion of the two designs.
When the pages were originally completed they were in black and white. After I graduated I got my pal Frost-Lock to color the pages which made them look fantastic!
It was really fun doing this, I hope I get the chance to draw more comics like these in the future (maybe with other video game characters or more Freedom Planet. You never know.
