Self portrait.Acrylics.
I always put things up when they're not quite finished. I still have to fix up the background and the crack marks because they're dodgey. But I just can't be bothered right now. If you do see something that could be fixed, tell me now while I still care.

The concept behind the orginal photographs I used for reference was forced smiles.. seems a little cliche, but yeah. Thanks for the comments.

Ad rem - I think this painting are beautiful! Visible red colour of background lovely contrasts with grey-black-white face. In my opinion the best are eyes - great emphasis.

I absolutely love the crack marks. They add so much more; they give the piece more of a personality, as odd as that may sound.
The colors are perfect. The detail is beautiful, and the red background makes the face stand out so much.

I think this is a great piece. It has a lot of character and I am always in awe of those who can use acrylics so well! The expression is great and the colours do a lot to really bring the subject into focus. I love all the reds in this piece.
