Being able to draw a dragon is something you can study by studying anatomy and practising texture drawing. You get the hang of it over time. Being able to draw it in a gesture that makes it look majestic and dominant, is something you need to understand. I have seen countless dragon artworks, and many managed to nail it, but when someone fails drawing a dragon, its not so much the way it looks, but rather the gesture and position is lame. A dragon is a fierce creature, its epic. And you Sir managed to nail it. The way its standing there, intimidating, the way it looks DOWN on you, a gesture of dominance. It clearly indicates that it is strong, at least stronger than you. Fantastic! Next up, something very important, many, MANY people get wrong. 'Colour theory'. What colours fit together? What colours can I use for expression? What fits with the theme? In this case, its not too difficult. The theme is clearly 'Ice'. You didn't have to draw a colourful artwork. However, what I really like, is that you used purple to indicate shading on some parts of the dragons scales. You still made use of many different tones and colours for your painting, even if you could've just used a bunch of different blue tones. And often the artist regrets that decision, because its more difficult than they expected to get all of the colours fit together. You also managed to nail drawing the icy texture by highlighting with a white pen, I believe. A lesser experienced artist would've probably not highlighted making it look like a regular blue dragon. Also very important is the background. A background can add so much to an artwork, and many seem to underestimate how important it is. Often they get lazy in the end, and end up either completely ruining the artwork with a bad background or simply don't add one at all. In this case however, it doesn't take away from the main focus, being the dragon but also adds to the tension, by letting the viewer know where the scenario takes place which is not a location it like to find a dragon at, to be fair. Very nice. All in all, the impact is amazing, because you managed to nail the gesture as I said. Your techniques are clearly on the more experienced side as well. Sadly its not very original, since there are countless dragon artworks. Solid piece, well done! Makes me wanna take a look at 'Crystals of Fate'! And to end it up. Sir, you basically already made your dream come true. It is a professional painted dragon.
