Fanart? You might want to send it on to GW/CA and see if they bite the hook. This art piece is magnificent!
Masterful work and composition, play of mist, light and shadow. Perfect depiction of Tyrion and his army at work. Evocative and flawless use of colours. Rings of epic deeds and massive slaughter to protect his kin and country.
Given your deft hand at illustrating Warhammer and its brutal sides, you might be interested in knowing that Warhammer Fantasy have a community driven spiritual successor project under steam. Namely, The Ninth Age: www.the-ninth-age.com/
It is fully possible for previous Warhammer fanart to be submitted to T9A, and if their iconography doesn't constitute IP infringement they may well make it into full army books, full credits given. (Obviously this particular art piece couldn't be relevant; it's rather relevant for official GW/CA duty and widespread recognition if you feel like trying to catch GW/CA attention! But just mentioning in case you've got some old generic fantasy pieces lying around and feel like sharing.) Obviously, such an ambitious project is always welcoming artists, for artwork is what makes or breaks a professional polished product. This is a chance to have one's fanart under an official stamp, and moreover to develop one's own styles for familiar archetypes.
Note that one has to post two comments on the forum before being allowed to upload images to the gallery (just post compliments in the army blog section or suchlike first Β if you would ever like to contribute).
Also, they've recently launched their first Art Contest, this time pitting Warriors of the Dark Gods against others: www.the-ninth-age.com/index.ph⦠Many more contests to follow in months and years to come if this catch on. Something for your talents and tastes, perhaps?
Just mentioning. In any case, fantastic artwork! Have a good day.

One last follow-up here: Matthew Klaas de Witte has shared his Albion fan art with the Creative Assembly over in the Community works section on Total War: forums.totalwar.com/discussion⦠Which garnered interest from developers.
Please consider doing the same in the same section with your outstanding Tyrion artworks (and other High Elf illustrations). They're unique, and of the highest quality level.
I think it would be great to see your art show up in the epitome of Warhammer Fantasy that is CA's monumental trilogy. Whether as licensed work or donated fanart or however that works out; I don't have eyes for the money, but the creativity and art in and of themselves.
(Also, should you for any reason ever feel like depicting something Warhammer-esque for its community-driven spiritual successor T9A, then just say the word and I can get you inΒ E-mail contact with the heads of their art team:Β i.imgur.com/dlmQkB6.jpg )
Kind regards

You well deserve it! Top notch-stuff! And those yearly Tyrion paintings...! A dream to follow for Elf fans, I'm sure. Dwarf fan here, but I think you capture Tyrion and the High Elves perfectly. The right amount of darkness in shading and colour to go alongside the brightness and elegance, to make them pop and be a bit grounded in all the elevated splendour.

I know this is splitting hairs for no reason, but I do think that ASOIAF debuted before Warhammer's Tyrion.

The first book of ASOIAF was published in 1996. Tyrion was introduced in the 4th editon High Elf armybook which was published in 1993. So Warhammer Tyrion was first.

Actually Warhamemr fantasy came out in 1983 and Tyrion and Teclis were the first two heroes right in the beginning of it all.Β

Yes, Warhammer came out in 1983. But Tyrion and Teclis were not the first two heroes.
Warhammer in the beginning was very different from what you would recognize today. The background was barely explored and most was just generic fantasy terms. In the 3rd edition for example most of the background of the High Elves was this: They are Elves from an Island called Ulthuan. There are several kingdoms. One of these Kingdoms is called Eataine. The capital is called Lothern.
That was basically the entirety of the 3rd edition High Elf background.
Tyrion, Teclis, Malekith, Anarion, the Phoenix King etc. was all introduced in the 4th edition. Tyrion, Teclis and Malekith were mostly created by William King, who joined Games Workshop in 1989, so they could not have been created before that.
Incidentally, the first real character for Warhammer was Heinrich Kemmler, who was introduced in "The Terror of the Lichemaster" in 1985. Even Sigmar (and alot of the Empire) was only created in 1986 for the Warhammer Roleplaying Game's "The Enemy Within".
So long story short: Warhammer the game is from 1983, but the background of the warhammer world (as is recognizable today) was really started in 1985/1986.

Can't find anything supporting this, but Tyrion was definitely included in the 4th edition High Elf book.
So my bad on that part.
