The first thing that got my attention here is the text. The saying feels like some maxime that I would hear from a book or a wise old man. In an easier way, the motto is what I like the most about this piece. It's very motivational and gives me a really positive feeling, and it's probably something I could also relate to in life.
Scootaloo was definitely the best choice of character to use for something like this. The 3D Scootaloo doesn't look too bad, but I think using an SFM/GMOD model feels kind of out of place with just a flat dark background. There are also areas where bits of the mane and tail pop out of the dark awkwardly.
A 2D vector of Scootaloo would probably have fit better with the solid black color, or if you preferred to stick with 3D models, I would recommend adding some light and shadows to the back to make it fit in more with the context of the 3D pony.

To be fair, it was a quick job. And looking at it now, I think I overdid with the brightness/contrast setting on Photoshop.
I tried my hand at vectoring a couple of times, and all I did was a huge mess. And yes, the black background wasn't the best idea, but I feared a white BG would hurt the eyes.

I think I would have gone for the black background too.
Well if you can't vector Scootaloo yourself, there's always a lot of DA users who make free-to-use vectors from the show.
