I basically just threw some of my mixed thoughts together on this one. but I love this game, so so much. I had a lot to say and even still I cut a bunch.
it's actually pretty funny, I've met the most unlikely people who secretly love NiGHTS journey of Dreams, it's so endearing.

JOD has it's own magic I think it was just a time where they were going to put it on ps3 and xbox 360 but want to do it when the wii was around sometimes I feel like where too ungrateful of what we have now of being spoiled with all these amazing things or not.
Sometimes when I play old games I want to imagine myself back in that time zone when playing a game so I can get that feel of what what it was like back then maybe one day a HD version will be and fix the stuff.
The sad thing these days videos games have become more grim and edgy not all but some things feel too serious and this is a game that I just can't hate there something about this game that can't let me hate it I guess NiGHTS is a character that is too pure and innocent for this world and I wish to see more games like this! (well maybe some)
I don't know all I'm saying is I can't hate this game because if I do I feel like a monster for hating it I wish I play this game when I was younger so it would have even more of impact on me! So yeah NiGHTS is too pure for this world!

Love what you had to say here! While I'm in the "loving NiD more" camp, I would never give any heck to someone who loves JoD. Both games have their good aspects, but as you pointed out, there are quite a number of criticisms on both ends. I do appreciate what JoD had to add to the overall lore and it was a very fun ride overall, even if there are some missions I don't like. (Coaster NiGHTS I'm looking at you.)
And speaking of, there were those inconsistencies with the Personas. Some transform NiGHTS, and yet he could transform by himself, and certain ones meant loyalty even though no other Nightmarens besides NiGHTS or Reala had one. That bit of added stuff always gets me scratching my head.
Also I agree with the things that were needed story-wise; I believe I read/heard somewhere on the NiD site long ago, possibly on one of the many podcasts Trippy and Digi did where they mentioned there was an intended scene for the end of Reala's fight, but it was cut due to what was essentially development hell for JoD. It's a darn shame though, and I wonder just how much was cut.
Anyhoo, love the art and your sense of humor in the responses! It makes me happy to see you continue to do these!

I'm so split between NiD and JoD. But NiD is basically flawless gameplay IMO. and yeah Coaster mission bleh, I H8 the river one. which is too bad, the transformation missions could have been a fun change of pace, but unfortunately they're the 'cringe' part of the game XD
yeah it really seemed like they just wanted to add a mask to nights and then had to think of some explanation later.
it really seemed like there would have been something for Reala, it seems so out of place with out it. b/c they added enough screen time for him to deserve it. :-/ well that's a shame.

Oh yeah, River Rescue is a pain, especially if you're going after the Dream Drops. There's a lag between the input so you have to pray your jump actually works for the ramp to get that thing. :< It is a shame they weren't quite implemented as well. They had a lot of potential, which essentially sums up how I feel about JoD.
They really did. I mean, they could have used it for something else, or just cut it since it didn't really make sense with what has been established. It also lead to a rather... cheap reveal? I mean I love that moment in Memory Forest, but the mask thing felt so out of place in Crystal Castle. 
I am saddened there wasn't anything for him as well. There was some hinting at a possible friendship/kinship between the two's interactions (Reala seemingly wanting NiGHTS to return because Wizeman might hurt him more, and NiGHTS asking him if he was alright when hurt,) so I think some sort of a farewell or last words should have been there. I wonder what they were, if they were actually recorded.
