So like... I enjoy writing (read I love writing with every fiber of my being and I do everything I can to try and let it out and have been writing since I was really little - like sometimes it sucks how much I love it) Anyway, I enjoy using pictures to inspire various books and stories, and I was wondering if I could use your artwork as inspiration to write a book. I don't think I can give my interpretation of this artwork.
All I can say is that it strikes me on a very personal level because.... I have already seen these two, in my mind since a long time ago, and very occasionally, they show up on DeviantArt, in so many different forms by so many different artists....
But this one with the touch of their foreheads, and their eyes....
This one hits too close to home.
He will follow her and he will find her if it costs him everything he has and is.

A bit late to the party but I like sunginjos idea that they knew each other in heaven before she was banished. Plus Edema-Ruh idea of being drawn to the light, could be up to interpitasion who's the true light, or it could only matters that there's still light in both of them even if in different ways.

My interpretation is that they were in love back when she was an angel herself, but she fell from grace. Now the same is about to happen to him for loving her. His feathers are already coming off! Also, that eclipse would be very symbolic.

A beautiful drawing - I like that monochromatic touch of it! Also, details and proportions look quite good.
About the story... well - one could say that he is an angel, and she may be a demon. In an ever-ongoing war, they both met and found a secret love. Above is the moment when they decide not to care anymore, and to truly give in to their love, no matter what their surrounding will do or think. They also come closer together in another way: He starts loosing parts of his wings, and she part of what makes her appear as a demon, but they loose it in a beautiful way. And it may be that they end up as humans - with a little bit special abilities, and a knowledge of heaven and hell and the secret world.

For their whole lives, they were best friends. As their grade level increased, so did their affection. No one was surprised when they announced their engagement, though their parents wanted them to wait until after their college graduation. "Get that diploma, get a job, and settle down first," they said.Β
The lovers should never have listened.Β
The day before they were to walk down in caps and gowns was the day ruin rained on the lovers' lives.Β
"Jordan!" Angelica screamed. "JORDAN!"
It took a firemen and two paramedics to hold her back from the burning building. This wasn't suppose to happen. This wasn't suppose to happen. This wasn't suppose to happen.
Days later, she managed to pick up the fragments she'd heard the day of the fire, but didn't listen to. Some jealous naive high schooler thought her college boyfriend of oh-so-many months was cheating on her with a college girl. In retaliation, she went out to wreck havoc on the girl's apartment. Apparently, she found the two of them in bed, and in her angry, idiotic state, she set fire to the woman's wardrobe.Β
They couldn't control the fire.Β
When Jordan and Angelica chose their apartment to end their senior year in, they knew the place was a disaster waiting to happen, but it had been cheap, and they knew they were leaving after a year. "It'll be fine," Angelica had said. She'd been smiling, laughing even, as they signed the lease and moved in. "It'll be perfect."
And it would've been fine, if Jordan hadn't been a firemen.Β
When the fire first started, Angelica was sure she was a goner, trapped in the bathroom, unable to leave. Unable to breathe.Then Jordan, her lover, best friend, angel, came in all the fireman's glory, brushing away the debris and carrying her out. Don't worry, she'll be fine, a paramedic said, the same one who would sedate her a mere three minutes later.Β
"I love you," Jordan whispered, smiling softly. Then the idiot turned around, running back into the burning building. There were more people to be saved.Β
As soon as Angelica couldn't see her lover's figure anymore, the entire building collapsed, and with it, all of Angelica's warmth.Β
Hundreds of lives were lost that day.Β
But all Angelica cared about was Jordan's.Β
Her mother tried to comfort her. "You have a guardian angel now, honey. Jordan will always be with you, watching you."
The words weren't very comforting when said through horrendous sobbing. No tears would fall from her eyes though. She felt nothing. A few days after the funeral, Angelica left. Her family tried to contact her, but they seemed to get the message after a year of no contact. It was better that way. They wouldn't be in her way, asking questions and reminding her of her humanity.Β
If you are watching me, Angelica thought, look away.Β
She could never feel warmth again after that day. Not entirely.
The most warmth she felt was watching the fire burn away at the high schooler's body. She was screaming and thrashing, but Angelica made sure to secure her. She wouldn't be able to escape. As she smelled the burning flesh, her body finally let her feel the warmth.Β
It was month before she killed again. Always someone who deserved it. At first. The man who tried to rob her. The woman who tried to con her. The man who looked at her funny. The woman who bumped into her at the grocery story. The couple who's baby just wouldn't shut up.Β
Always fire. Angelica made sure they always burned. But after years and years, she no longer felt the heat.Β
Five years after Jordan's death, Angelica set one more fire. This time, she was the one bound.
When she opened her eyes, there was no question as to where she was. The screams, the flames, the hopelessness. She knew what she was too, without looking into a mirror to see her black, irisless eyes, or feeling the horns now atop her forehead.Β
She still never felt the heath of the flames she created. She didn't even take pleasure in the screams, as the other did.Β
It was only when she was in her lover's arms, that she felt the warmth. But she wasn't sure if it was from the radiant glow of Jordan's wings, the love that they once had finally stirring up after being left for dead, or the all-consuming fire that came from Jordan's hands, burning straight through to Angelica's core.Β
"You know the end of our story already," she whispered. "We are worlds apart - how could this ever possibly go well?"
They both knew the answer to that.Β
"It won't."
But those weren't Jordan's last words to her.Β
"I love you, Angelica. I love you."

Angel and Demon meet on Earth as middle ground and their love blossoms from there! Either through their love/hate for humanity? Hmmm.. Seems too basic to do your piece justice.

Gorgeous art first of all, technically speaking. Love the painterly sketch look of it, the posing of the 2 characters and the color scheme.
But the message is even more important for me, and indeed it makes me think about a lot of things I've read and seen. Some manga works such as "Angel Sanctuary" and "Innocent Bird", but most of all it makes me think about the few elf-human relarionships in Tolkien's works, and in a broader sense at just how tragic the existencial nature of his elves, as immortal beings, is. Just makes me see these two as a very unfortunate, dramatic couple down the road in their relationship, but also makes me admire them for their courage to face all odda, even the most probable unfortunate ending, just to be true to themselves, each other and just wrench as much happiness they can from their love, as well as giving it back to the other as well, as long as it lasts.
What can I say, I love people having the guts to do something they really feel they have to, even if all the odds are against them.

My mind perceives it as a Romeo and Juliet affair. A fair angel falling for someone who his people detest but he fell in love anyways. Love has no bounds

And as to the background... Seeing that he's an angel and she's something like a demon shows that they aren't supposed to love each other, but love knows no boundaries, not even when it comes to different sides of dark and light. So I think both know that what they do isn't "right" per se, and they need to keep her love a secret so they can life peacefully.
It would be a pity to tear those two apart, though.

These characters look exactly like my best friend and her husband! She even did a drawing of her husband with angel wings, so I couldn't help but immediately think of them when I saw this.
