Description I really wanted to draw Cole from Dragon Age: Inquisition because he's my favorite character. I also wanted to experiment with gouache a bit. This is the result.

Thank you! I don't really like it too much because I don't really have a good handle on how to use gouache yet and also my scanner kind funked with the pic a bit... :/

I think you did a good job on still learning how to use gouache (never used it before)

Thanks! The biggest thing I learned from this is to not water down the paint so much like with regular watercolors. The fun advantage gouache has over watercolor is that it's opaque like regular paints If you're thinking of trying out gouache I definitely say give it a shot! I've used Reeves which is student grade and Winsor and Newton which is professional grade and while the Reeves is obviously watered down you can still make some awesome stuff with it. Here's a piece I did with the Reeves paintsΒ www.instagram.com/p/0l5MSNzAuo… A 12 pack of Reeves is like $11-15 and a 12 pack of Winsor and Newton is $60 :'I sorry I rambled a bit... >->;;

Thanks! I've been using gouache for a while now but I do flat colors with it most of the time so doing something a little more rendered was interesting. Although, I'm not sure why every time I try to scan or take a picture of this piece it always looks blurry... ><;

Maybe its the scanner? Or maybe the scanner is a bit dirty? Who knows, but you should try checking if its that c:
I hope you keep having fun using diff mediums c:

Yeah, I have one in mind that I wanna get. It's by Epson and it's a little more than $90. I did some research and it's honestly the best and most affordable scanner I could find
