in this particular example - 'grafx2' (multiplatform free pixelart software)
I like 'aseprite' for non retro stuff
and sometimes specific tools for dedicated platform - like Multipaint for c64 ('commodore 64' 8bit home computer from 80')
but it is not connected to 'style' anyway - sometimes I draw just in Photoshop - if there is no other option

Yes it was a bit hard to figure out how add depth and shading with so much limited palette

there will be more pictures from this project - but I think I will show all them at once (as Gameboy pictures are pretty small) when it will be finished
