Description

Poland is an Eastern European state with a predominantly homogenous populationt and a West Slavic culture. The country formed as a nation in the tenth century and went trough various historical phases and was at times a major power as Poland-Lithuania. After World War II until the fall of the iron curtain, The country was a communis dictatorship. Poland joined the European Union in 2004 and is today closely linked to the United States, Germany and the Baltic states in the trade relations.
