Description Ethan Waber and Karen Erra from Phantasy Star Universe, @ Otakuthon 2011

I'm absolutely in love with their costumes, and I've actually had the privilege to build the Shigga Damud shotgun in the picture, which turned out quite okay for something so quick.

About shoes, ask and
As far as I remember, Ethan's shoes are simply store-bought with a good coat of latex type paint (rubbery and doesn't chip off as the shoe flexes).

The shotgun is mostly my creation, it's a cardboard structure with a tough fiberglass shell. I'd normally go all-fiberglass but we were a bit short on time.

You just had to choose the weirdest one, didn't you?

Anyway, the workload would be about the same... Dunno, 150 maybe? That's practically free considering the amount of hours required and the mess left afterwards, lol. I'd leave it in primer for you to paint.

Fiberglass fabric and polyester resin - Canadian Tire. Autozone would have them, as well. As for the cardboard sheets and wood glue, a good art supply store

I like working with fiberglass... I've made a bunch of other cool things with it:

Well, I suppose it's no secret: and (although you'll have better luck contacting him on the PSO-World Forums ([link] ).

The sword he made himself, an amazing piece of work. It's a clear plexiglass blade in a beautifully carved and painted wooden handle. The glow is added in post-processing of course.

which version, for the PC/PS2 or the Xbox? because you can download ambition of the illuminus (sp?) for free from the japanese website and play that online for the PC, but naturally it's all in japanese. there's guides on PSO world on how to download and install it.

Well that's what happens when cosplaying a mostly unknown franchise... If it's not Naruto or Final Fantasy, that's just how it goes. But what makes me happy is that people actually asked where it was from and might discover this awesome game

i'm not worried about that, no worries. we picked the characters as we knew there wouldn't be a billion other people wearing the same costume, which is common for naruto and other popular game/cartoon characters.

but yeah! this time people asked who we were cosplaying as! the power of prop weapons! *lol*
