My dad introduced me to the show (he watched it as a kid), he even purchased the dvd. A shame it didn't last long. I think it was a very good show (I love Planet of the apes). Thanks for sharing your artwork

Dude, I am the biggest POTA fan you will ever meet. I love this piece, there is like no fan art of the tv series on the net. I got the deluxe dvd set like 5 years ago that has all the movies, the tv series, the cartoon series and the burton remake. I fell in love with the show immediately. I recently wrote to Ron Harper (who played Virdon). He's a class act. Love to see you tackle the original movies!

Obviously I am a big POTA fan myself. I remember watching this show with my dad when I was a real little boy. I got a DVD set used before drawing this and re-lived the adventure. Even saw an episode I had not seen previously. So did Ron Harper write back??

I sent him a letter and an 8x10 i got printed of him from an episode. Three or 4 months later I got the picture back personalized to me. He thanked me for well written and kind letter, and said he hopes to meet me some day. Definitely a class act. I wrote to a bunch of ape actors and have gotten many signed photos. The best was Buck Kartalian who played Julius the zoo keeper in the original. He sent me back my photo signed and personalized, as well as about 4 other signed photos. Let me know if you'd want to trade ape sketches some time!

This is really nice and very evocative of the show. I had to wait years to see it , because my local ITV station didn't buy the series. If only it had been as good as this pic it would have been worth the wait
