Description
I went with the descriptions in the book Black Beauty but also watched the 'dancing scene' of the film over and over, making my VCR still from time to time. This is what I painted as a result. The horses look a little different from their movie equivalents but that's mainly because I use references to inspire me, not to stifle me. That's also why I don't often use references.I was likely in a very melancholic mood when I painted this.
I went for a more painted, rougher look for this one. I think I like it better than my refined work.

I love that scene. Could watch it over and over again. Dancing horses... so pretty. 
Your art looks great too. I could have sworn it was a still from the movie. But I know you, you would never steal. The horses look very realistic and you definitely captured the motion. A fav!

Haha, the water... you're talking about the later series of the nineties. The earlier series opening stuck with me much more than that one.
Heh, a still? That's funny you say that because this one may have been inspired from actual pictures (moving but you know what I mean) it has a much more painted and therefore less realistic look than most of my digital pieces. Thanks for the fav!

I don't do too much digital, compared to the number of traditional work, true. But for me, digital is a new medium so I'm looking for a 'way of painting' that fits for me and the medium.

I love this film... I haven't got it on video, but it was on TV a few days ago. I wouldn't let anyone toutch the TV remote at all, and if they did they were at risk of getting hit

But i have also seen black beauty more times than i think should be humanly possible.
