Hey Arnold couples as animals; Harold and Patty as big pink-skinned hippos, Curly and Rhonda as nerdy squirrels, Brainy and Lila as giant tortoises, and Eugene and Sheena as llamas.

In New Animal Life, Harold and Patty are happily married with Patty working as a professional wrestler in Wild Rumbling, until later she takes a job as a P.E. teacher while Harold works at Green Meats. When Curly and Rhonda married, Rhonda retires her old life as a fashion queen and embraces her new nerdy side. Even though she enjoys being a nerd, Rhonda runs her own cosmetics and fashionable clothing store while Curly works as Drama teacher. After getting over with his crush for Helga, Brainy and Lila fell in love and got married. Brainy managed to stop his wheezing habit, but still talks deep. Helga ended her rivalry with Lila, and the two are now best friends. Brainy works as a medic while Lila is a Kindergarten teacher. Eugene and Sheena are happily married and start their careers as stage performers.
