I've seen a few deviations that proposed a "switched at birth" scenario where Luke went to Alderaan and became a prince and Leia was taken to Tatooine and became a farmgirl. That really got me thinking about how the really iconic moments in Star Wars would look. Cloud City, Leia and Han disguised as Stormtroopers to rescue Luke
. There is a lot of fun to be had here. Though I think I'll steer clear of Luke in a slave outfit 
and will probably focus more on Leia's point of view.This is the first one I decided to do. Something simple. But while I was watching the scene in the movie for reference, I noticed for the first time how ackward Yoda looked "sitting" on Luke's foot. In that it didn't look like he was sitting on his foot at all, it looked like he was just sort of hanging there. A lot of "wedgie you are giving Yoda" jokes came to mind
Anyway, I decided to draw Yoda (my first Yoda drawing
) sitting cross legged on Leia's foot. And no I didn't forget Yoda's hair, I'm going to do that later with Paint Shop. It would have been a nightmare trying to color his hair if they were a part of the drawing.And the background is just a crappy mock up, I just didn't want to leave it empty. And since Leia isn't royalty I didn't want to give her any of "Princess" hairdos, so I went with her bounty hunter hair, which I'm sure was tied up, so I decided to add the braid

I clicked on this thinking it had something to do with the Infinities: ESB comic. Gosh, that was a good series...
I like how she's not totally balancing on her arm - using the Force is a good workout! lol

I've only heard of the concept of the comic, it wasn't until a few months back at the Barnes & Noble that I finally skimmed through the graphic novel and I thought it was really good. It's given me a few more ideas for my own Infinities pics

Very nice pic! I read a Dark Horse comic series called 'Infinities' where each film is given a 'What If' twist to it. In one of them, Leia is trained by Yoda.
*sigh* Maybe in some other universe, George Lucas made the switch as you mentioned up there.

I think that's because I haven't added his hair yet and I was planning on painting in most of his wrinkles when I color it, see how that works out.

Sure, I can probably have the lineart posted in a day or so, I doubt I have to do much cleaning to it, the lines came out pretty well. But I will add Yoda's hair

I did have to decide how much I was going to let gravity effect Leia's breasts. I decided to be very subtle with that, and considering the amount of attention they got as is, it was probably the right choice

I haven't read the "Infinities" stories, but I've seen them in my bookstore. Personally, I think it would have been fascinating if Yoda had trained Leia and Luke together. But, like the female Darth Revan, a lot of fans probably wouldn't have accepted the idea because it would have been far too ahead of its time. And it would have destroyed the "Luke doesn't know Leia's his twin sister" angle, which was vital to the "Star Wars" plotline
As for the "Luke and Leia are switched at birth" idea, well, that's a bit too soap operish because the screenwriters would have had to invent a plausible reason for it. It reminds me of the old MAD Magazine spoof of "Return of the Jedi". It had Luke running joyfully up to Leia and saying, "Hey, Leia, guess what? Darth Vader's my dad, you're my sister, Chewbacca's my dog, and R2-D2's my barstool!" To which Leia rolled her eyes and said, "I don't know if this is 'Star Wars' or 'All My Children'!"

They really wouldn't have to try too hard. All that would be needed is for Jimmy Smits to say, "My wife and I always wanted to adopt a baby boy."
And because a lot of fans wouldn't accept it, is the perfect reason why it should be done. If Mr. Lucas had gone with that rule he never would have made Episodes II and III, considering that a lot of "true" fans didn't accept Episode I

Oh, I did mention a female version of Han Solo - flashy Captain Hannah Solo of the Millenium Falcon. She gets upset because Prince Luke's close to accepting Princess Isolda of the Hapes Consortium as his bride. Hannah kidnaps Luke to Dantooine and convinces hin to marry her. The name of this novel? "The Courtship of Prince Luke".

Yeah, I believe I have the creds to be a "true fan" even though I was four years old I did see Star Wars for the first time back 1977. It's pretty much the first memory of my life I can still remember
And I don't mind people not liking how Star Wars has "changed" with Episode I, it's when they continue to blog about it 10 years after the fact and are still surprised when new things (like the The Clone Wars) is made the same way.
And now that I think about it, a female Han Solo has given me a few Prince Luke ideas.

The idea where Luke dies on Hoth and Leia takes his place as Yoda's final student on Dagobah is very interesting. But, of course, it wasn't what Uncle George had in mind.

I've seen some infinites where Luke died on Hoth, and Leia took his place on Dagobah.
