I can honestly say I've never been as curious as to what their old castle looked like before, until I've seen this.

There is very little artwork of it out there, but I was inspired to draw this by a piece done by an artist who simply goes by "Moe". Check him out if you want!

Does this "Moe" have a DA?

No one knows.. he's a mysterious one. As far as I know he doesn't. All his pieces on EQD simply have "Moe" for the source. His stuff is all over google. Pretty sure he stopped making art for a while, though. It's a shame! [link]

Wow!!!
Moe is essentially a Ghost Artist now.
Wandering the cyber streets looking for shows that need to be punished on a canvas, and when their found... his/her all is given into full canvas beatings.

This is absolutely amazing. There's so much detail and I could spend a good fifteen minutes just staring at it, catching all the little things here and there. I love the mysticism tone to it, what with all the fog and ivy all over the place. Definitely my favorite piece of all your stuff.

Words, mere words cannot describe how this resonates with me! it sets an atmosphere of both mystery, of old and different times, and of a path that is nearing its end (as it did on the show).
I apologize, but I cannot add much more to my thoughts... and I am usually NOT stingy with my words! Bravo!

Thanks! I liked doing this one because the original was very vague so it left alot of room for interpretation. I'm glad it works for you!

indeed. Much like your other artwork, in reminds me a wee bit of Dark Souls (well the old "New Londo" ruins to be specific).
Capturing beauty that is destroyed is a difficult thing to do, but when it is pulled off, it comes out wonderfully! Once again, great work, and yes, I found your interpretation wonderful!

This always left me wondering what happened to this castle. Did they just abbandon it in order to move to Canterlot or was it somehow destroyed?

I never thought about that.. now that I think about it, I can't help but feel it had something to do with discord or nightmare moon

This is just amazing! It has so much detail. How big of a paper do you draw on?

Glad you like it! I use a sheet of 8.5x11" for all my drawings.

I am terrible at drawing, but even if I was, it would be hard to fit so much detail into normal copy paper! You are amazing.

That fog effect...never knew you could do something like that with sketching. You are breaking every single archetype I had placed on the bounds of what a simple pencil sketch can do. I'm almost scared to imagine the sheer magnitude of awesome that would happen if you were to paint or do digital artwork (if this isn't already). Then again, the way this is done, with just a grey-scale, adds more emotion to it. I almost feel as if colouring this image would, well, I don't want to say taint, but it just wouldn't have the same effect that this undoubtedly bold interpretation has in it's present form. Does that make any sense? I hope it does. I'm just gushing at this point. You have to be one of my favorite FiM artist, if not my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE artist at this moment in time.
Again, another absolutely spectacular piece. If this is what you want to do as a career, simply sketching landscapes, or sketching in general otherwise, or whatever else in art that you wish to do, I have absolutely no doubt that you will succeed beyond even your wildest expectations.
